Upgrading from Vista (32) to 7 (64)
Hi,
I'm new to the forums and I have some questions regarding upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7.
1. I already have Windows 7 32-bit BETA installed as a dual boot with Vista, prior to installing Windows 7 64-bit I'd like to remove 7 (32), does anyone know how?
2. My processor is an Intel T8300 and I know that it's 64-bit so I know that 7 64-bit will work, but if I only purchase an upgrade version of 7 then I'll require a full/clean install since I'm jumping from 32 to 64... how do I upgrade if I'm going to be doing a clean install? Windows Vista came on my laptop and I don't have a recovery CD (that's handled by a hidden recovery partition on the HDD set up by Samsung) --- is an upgrade from 32 Vista to 7 64 possible? Will I need to buy the full version of 7 64?
3. I assume that all my 32-bit software will work with 7 64-bit, but that I'll get no real performance increase unless I'm using 64-bit software. This is correct, right?
4. I'll finally be able to use my currently "idle" 4th GB of RAM, right??? Perhaps even get a slight performance boost that way!?
Thanks in advance for any responses!
