    QUOTE=brainiacary;586282]Now Third question :

    3. "hobocopy" HoboCopy | Get HoboCopy at SourceForge.net
    I heard it can help to copy in use files that are being locked.
    Can it run on Windows 7? If yes how to use it plz explain.
    If hobocopy cannot be used on win 7 arent there any GUI alternatives to it ?

    PS I've heard it can copy even files from c:\...\TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES\LOW\flaxxxx.tmp[/QUOTE]

    HoboCopy can be used in Windows 7.
    You will have to run it from the command line.

    Click Start, type CMD and press Enter
    A command window will open.
    Navigate to the HoboCopy folder.
    The command line syntax is,

    1. If you are copying an entire folder
    Code:
    hobocopy <Source Folder> <Target Folder>
    2. If you are copying a single file
    Code:
        hobocopy <Source Folder> <Target Folder> <Filename>
    You can use these arguments, if required,
    Code:
    /full - Copy all files
    /skipdenied - Ignore any access denied messages because of permission errors.
    /r - Copy recursively (Include Subdirectories)
    /y - Don’t prompt, just copy everything
    Ex.
    Code:
    hobocopy /full /skipdenied /r /y C:\FromFolder D:\ToFolder
    hobocopy /full /skipdenied /r /y C:\FromFolder D:\ToFolder FileIWantToCopy.txt
    If you are not comfortable with the command line then,
    You can try out Runtime Software Shadow Copy. Its free.

    Product Highlights
    * Copy all your files, even if they are locked
    * Run from command prompt
    * Copies locked and open files
    * Uses Microsoft's Volume Shadow Services

    Not heard of this before, so I've checked the link you provided. As yet, there are no downloads available, so it is not possible to evaluate it.

    Welcome to the forum GreenScorpion, you would be better off starting your own thread with your problem. This thread is an old one so your problem would probably get missed by the people who could help you.
