How to know if your windows 7 is pirated/illegal copy?

Shouldn`t the question be more " How do I know if my Activation is illegal " ?
Tell me if I`m wrong but if you borrowed your cousins copy of W7, installed it,
and purchased a key Through Microsoft wouldn`t it still be a legal install?

If you purchased the key from MS then yes.

If you purchased the key from MS then yes.

its always good to have the money to buy the legit copy and be safe rather than have an illegal copy and getting sued or having the popo at your door lol
