Hi,
A little later I will read the tutorials again. I'll give it a shot if I feel comfy. I would LOVE to learn to do this myself. Running to someone whenever I have a problem is a hassle. We'll see.
Thanks everyone
Hi, sorry I didn't see you Myzr.
Not just Outlook, but omg. Windows Media player is awful. I make my playlists, they vanish, the MP3's copy and are put in another folder automatically. My playlists double and triple. I put the music in Users>Tousdae>My Music and they showed up in the music library, but some MP3's were missing from the folders there but not in users>my music. I messed around with this for a total of about 5 hours all week. Then I thought maybe if I move my music to my slave drive that would cure the problem. It went well for awhile and then when I reopened it sometime later the playlists were gone again. Then I just downloaded Real Player and have that for 2 weeks for free. I gave up on Media.
I have some issues with Word. Just errrors again that pop up but then the program works fine. I click on internet explorer and it keeps wanting to set up IE again ... ????????
With Outlook my password won't stick ... and when I open a new email some kind of error comes up saying something is missing, but then I'm able to email. The password really isn't an issue. How lazy can I be lol
Tousdae,
From your posts, I'd wager that you will have no difficulty doing the install yourself.
My only suggestion now is to be sure and printout the procedure you decide to follow. I easily forget a step if I don't have the printed word in front of me.
I really tried to use webmail. I was laid off a two years ago and I had to move. My new ISP had a fairly decent webmail client. However, the slow response - compared to an email client - really bugged me. I just couldn't get used to it. I guess I was spoiled by years of using Outlook for business email, planning, scheduling, etc. I would rather have my mail download and then I can read, reply, delete, etc almost instantly.
I also like the convenience of creating folders for various types of email and using rules to automatically sort my incoming email.
I Have a question slightly off my topic. What does it mean when your monitor occassionally goes black for a few seconds and then on again? This happened before. My video card died, but also I could clearly hear the fan on it and how loud it was going. Since my card is brand new, it better not be the card. I wonder if the monitor is going? Ugh seriously ... if 1 more piece of pc equipment goes... I might choke myself lol
Yeah, Wishmaster, I have no desire right now, but then again I've gotten about 6 hours sleep in 2 days lol so that might have something to do with it. I have 2 jobs and not a lot of time to mess around. I was thinking about waiting until my April vacation to try to mess around with this pc. This way if I mess up, I won't have to run around during lunch breaks bringing my pc to the shop and in between 2 jobs try to get everything back on the pc. Will it hurt anything to wait that long?
Thanks
