Windows Explorer jump list Customizations disappeared

Whenever I right click on the Windows Explorer superbar icon I only get options to open Windows Explorer or unpin it from the superbar. Options to allow recent items to be displayed in taskbar is still checked and the animation for dragging stuff to the superbar still shows the "Pin to Windows Explorer" option. Restart = no change, and the option works correctly for other users on the same machine. Would appreciate suggestions as I'm out of ideas.

I think it's an issue with 7000 as it's an early release. You might want to try downloading the latest release 7077 which in my oppinion (and others) is by far the most stable release. And the taskbar jump list works well too.

    My explorer jumplist disappeared again
Previously an upgrade to 7077 cured it, and it stuck around after I installed 7120 (which I used for a few weeks). Now all of a sudden they're gone again. The only change I can think of that might have been related is the regedit to remove the "- shortcut" text I applied recently; but even then, that was a few days and restarts ago.
As with before the issue only occurs in my main profile (other users are fine). And the jumplist is also inaccessible when pinning explorer to the start menu (clicking the right arrow does nothing). Undoing the above mentioned registry change and restarting has had no effect.
If anyone knows how/where jumplist data is stored and where it's referenced in the registry or can offer suggestions on how I should go about to reset this, I would appreciate it. TIA

I have had this happen to me, also, in the last couple of days. I have not added anything new to the system that is running Windows 7. I had 4-6 files pinned to Excel and 2-3 pinned to Word and now I can open the files, they show in recent and/or pin them. Then, at some later interval (hours or minutes I am not sure which) they all just disappear.

Did anyone else come with any ideas why this is happening?

Something I noticed and not sure if this will apply to anyone else. I use ccleaner almost daily and I noticed that the recent update also has an option that includes jumplist. I tested out unchecking the box for that in the options and sure enough the jumplist has not left, since then.

Maybe it's this program or another cleaner program that is clearing this information. This is just one person's experience and solution.

I have the same issue and have looked everywhere for an answer. All I get is a no entry sign pop up if I try to drag anything into the explorer icon on the superbar. I have final RTM 64bit.

Fix for When Pinned Jump List Items Get Stuck in Windows 7 - the How-To Geek

    in short:
    nuke everything in:
    %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations

for explorer.exe the file is always called:
    1B4DD67F29CB1962.AUTOMATICDESTINATIONS-MS

in my case, deleting that file didn't restore the default jump list (just erased all the selections)
-but, copying that file from another user profile to mine did.

    -cheers!
