No it doesn't do this for me as well as some others! I can't believe that you have participated in this topic for so long and you still have not comprehended this yet. I've already said that no one doubts or disagrees with what the intended purpose of the two different focus overlays are for. I'm saying that for me, when the dotted box is triggered, and yes I know how and why it does it, it remains this way.The dotted box will remain as the object of focus regardless of keyboard or mouse or pointer or application or whatever. The fancy white square is gone until the system is re-booted.

I'm also not disputing the fact that it works normally and as advertised for you Tater. It just doesn't work as it should for me.

As shown in the screenshot below. In Windows Style Builder the logical place to look is at Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ListView > ListItem and Explorer & Shell > Explorer > ListView > ListItem But I didn't find it there.
Dotted Box around Desktop Icons
This little dotted outline has just started appearing around desktop icons. I can control it with the arrow keys and use it to select icons that way. What I can't seem to do is switch it off. Clicking off the desktop makes it disappear, but as soon as I click back on the desktop it returns. It...

Get rid of dotted line around selection
I was wandering how I would get rid of this dotted line? I've seen someone say something about Deleting your Icon Cache and so on, but I've deleted my Icon Cache for different things before and that still has always been there.
