    Back to XP!

Well, I guess this is it.
I won't use Windows 7 until it is released as a Final.
I've tried all the thinkable ways of trying to get my Lineage 2 working on Build 7077.
No succes, So, For all the compatibility I want without losing speed, I'm heading back to Windows XP.
I'll still surf around the forums probably.
Anyone else has major campatibility problems on 7077?

well, thats what dual boot is for Same goes for ppl running punkbuster games (for now atleast). Blame the lineage developers, not 7. Its not 7 duty to make sure IT is comp with everything else, thats the developers job. But to just run an OS for ONE particular game? I can somewhat understand, but if this is your case just for ONE game not running the OS, well... dont know what to say to ya. I had same feelings with Vista, but there was more than just ONE problem with apps or games. Why not dual boot or run a virtual machine? Its not as if while you are playing that game on XP it hinders you from doing other things.... a 30 sec reboot is the only thing keeping you from running 7?

You may want to scour their support forums as well... maybe send some feedback to the developers on when they plan on supporting the OS

It would be kinda like me saying ... well since XP wont run rollercoaster tycoon 1, i guess i will have to switch back to win98 for my primary OS.

As far as I know, RCT1 DOES run on XP :O
And well, I only have 160GBs of Hard drive space, so I gotta watch it.
    No dual-boots for me. :)
And well, I don't play much else than Lineage 2, except for Shin Megami Tensei.

I actually feel bad for Microsoft. I wish people weren't suck jack-asses when it came to compatibitility. I bet the OS could have huge leeps in power if they could ignore compatibility :) Seriously tho, think if they had to waste all of their time worrying about making xp compatible with stuff from windows 3.1. That's pretty much the same time frame difference from windows xp initial release and windows 7.

The problem with not seeing the speaker setting in the Creative audio console here has been the major annoyance in the 7000 build while the tv tuner works well. The reverse has been seen in the 7077 with everything working for Creative while the repeat efforts to see something besides a greyed out picture in there is still underway.

The surprise however was no need for a driver cd for the nic card added in there. Meanwhile XP and Vista are still on here for the old reliable element!

It amazes me that after all this time XP is still going strong. There is a big fan base for it. My friend installed 7, had it on for a day then reinstalled XP, cos he 'knew it'
Fair enough but if you think about it, for gaming anyway benchmarks ive seen 7 keeps up well with XP, in some tests actually better. Shame developers dont go as quick to update but thats the way it is. Me personally i dont think i could go back to XP. 7 does what i want and have had no probs. Unfortunate for those who have, but hopefully that will all get sorted out.
