Windows 7: Problem with search

Windows 7 x64 finally!

Groston, have you made sure the location you are searching is included in the Index, see below. If so, I have no more ideas except that you try to move the location back to where it was to see if it solves the problem.

It is included. I have noticed some other strange behavior. If I type in the Start->Search, nothing appears in auto-complete. But when I click 'Show more results', I see everything expected.

If moving it back fixes the problem, them this is a major bug.

Windows 7 x64 finally!

I will move my index location somewhere and see what happens. I will report on results tomorrow after re-indexing

Edit: not needed, the index didn't need to be rebuilt after I moved it. And it works perfectly being in the new location.
Did you get all folders moved to the new location? Here one copy of my tree:

If all is there, I would then recommend trying to rebuild the index as a last attempt

Full directory tree is there. Actually, I was forced to reinstalling my system, so it reindexed today. The problem persists. Thanks for your information which strongly indicates that the problem is not related to the location of the data store - I was going to move it back and reindex again. I wonder what the problem might be...

You may want to try a System Restore to undo the changes you made.

Windows 10 Pro x64 x3, Ubuntu

two things I can think of that may or may not be related ....

Chack that the options are set in explorer - organise - folder options - search. You will need to have subdirectory search and partial match turned on.

Also check your pNTFS permissions in the location where you have moved the index. your user will need full control of the index file for update purposes.
