    Where is clipboard.exe?

I am trying to put a shortcut to clipboard.exe on my dektop but can not find this file. I have W7 Pro 64 bit.

On my old XP machine I had this shortcut on the dekstop because it made the Print Screen facility so much easier. (As far as I can rememeber)

    Can anyone help please?

There is no 'clipboard.exe' in Windows 7.
There is a tool by the name of 'clip.exe' that redirects command line output to clipboard.

    Thank you for your replies.

Bill2; I don't think Clipmagic is what I need but thanks.

I have searched for clip.exe but the search facility is not finding anything. If it is there I would like to know where it is please.

However I may have resolved this problem as I have just discovered the wonders of the Snipping Tool. This seems to allow me to capture the screen and save and print without using Paint.

Anyway thanks to all unless someone knows where clip.exe is.

    Go to the start menu,
    search for run,
    press enter,
    type clip.exe,
    press enter,
hey presto you've got it :P

    Hello Judesman.

Here's a tutorial about the snipping tool, it's the same in Windows 7 and Vista; at the link below.

    Thanks all for your input.

Osholt: If I enter clip.exe in RUN and click enter the RUN window just disappears so I don't understand that.

Bare Foot Kid: I have saved the link to that tutorial so thank you. I have another question about some files in W7 that don't respond so I may try entering a screen shot of the files in due course.

Jacee: I am not much of a techie so your link was a little beyond me but I will have another look. Thanks anyway.

    Judesman.
