Why is there no A or B partition
Someone asked me today why the partition numbering always starts with C and why there are no A or B partitions. I did not know the answer. Does anybody know?

Letters A and B are reserved for Floppy Drives. C to Z are reserved for Hard Disks, CD, DVD, TAPE and Other Magnetic Drives and Disks.
They were reserved for floppy drives, but if you format a partition in W7 it will give you the option to name it A or B. I was surprized myself.
