You could also try adjusting the clear type text. It might not help but it couldn't hurt.

There is an app. which will tone down those and adjust to different times of day.

Can't recall atm what it is called.

I tried it out on Vista x64 a while back - seems to work as advertised.

Will post back if I can remember it.
I will give it a try when you'll remember the name of this app!

Hello did you find a solution to your problem PODxt? I am experiencing the same problem. On the same computer on Win XP I can work for 10 hours with no problem but when I am on Win 7 my eyes become sore. What is the problem I do not know.

This thread is four and a half years old, and member PODxt has not posted on this site since April 2011.

If you tried the program mentioned in the old posts above and it did not improve things for you, perhaps starting a fresh post elsewhere will get someone who can help.

Disable Cleartype fonts and use NON OLED Display helped many users with eye strain. OLED display have flicker especially if brightness is lower than 50% but NON-OLED LCD display do not hurt eyes like that and are softer on eyes.

Some of us, have been working at a computer screen, many hours a day, all the way back to the yellow MONO screens of the seventies or eighties. I liked the paper-white screens best, myself.

Options include lessening the time spent at the computer, or/and get better glasses.

Personally, I've been working a PC for 42 years, and I'm not blind yet. But I do realize the eye strain that can come with too many hours at the PC.

    Take a break!
