    "preparing desktop...." message at every startup


    Good Day,

    Sir please help im using windows 7 ultimate, every time i open or start my laptop there's a message appearing on desktop and the message is "preparing desktop...." this problem start only after i system restore my laptop.

    Hello Arch, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    This sounds like it may be from this error message below for a corrupted user account. Do you get this error message before you see the "preparing desktop...." message?

    Your user profile was not loaded correctly! You have been logged on with a temporary profile.

    Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off. Please see the event log for details or contact your administrator.

    If so, then you might see if one of these may be able to help you fix this.

    The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. - Vista Forums

    or

    User Profile Error - Logged on with a Temporary Profile - Vista Forums
