I strongly suspect that it is being caused by you folder set up. a typical path for folders would be
    C:\documents and settings\all users\application data

    yours
    C:\documets and settings\all users\application data\application data\application data\application data\application data\miscrosoft.

Given the 5 extra level with all folders duplicated you are going to have 5 extra copies of everything.

Oh dear....you altered folder permissions didn't you?
    ...Why?

This is called an infinite loop, because you changed permissions.
...You were denied access for a reason.

Document and Settings, All Users, Application Data, etc. Are all junctions there is no reason for you to be accessing these. Any folder that denies you access like these did, it means leave it alone, there is nothing in them. These junctions redirect old applications to the new layout, and as you can see the "Application Data" folder points to a location with another "Application Data" folder that points to the same location as the first one. Infinite loop.

And for future reference, everything that appears to be in C:/Documents and Settings/<user>/... is now actually under c:/Users/<user>/...

Turn on hidden files and folders to see it all. You should be able to have access to the files directly under there.
