How to always force shutdown....

hey guys.

i like to know how to force the computer to shutdown when i click " shutdown" or just close my notebook.

But every time i try just close my notebook it will tell me
" there are programs still running in the background" and you can either choose
" Force shutdown" or " cancel "

i want it to choose " force shutdown" automatic and to be able shut it down without the message popping up and just shutdown. I know that i my lose unsaved data but i dont care.....i want a fast way to shut down.

Would be very, very happy for a solution....

You can force shutdown by simply choosing to do so in power options. Type "Power Options" in the search box, then click on the Power Options link. Then click on "change plan settings" then click on "change advanced power settings." Navigate to "Power button and lids." Under power button, choose shutdown. Save settings and reboot.

You could also type at the cmd prompt:
cmd> shutdown /s
and after a on minute your PC will shutdown.
You could save this command in a script and create a shortcut on your desktop.

Actually Bare Foot Kid is right that you simply should not do it.

Even with a script supposedly "approved by Microsoft" I would not do a forced shutdown habitually.
That command posted by WindowStar forces a shutdown after 0 seconds delay and with no warnings to the user about unsaved data.

I would only do a forced shutdown when a normal shutdown fails because some process is stuck and refuses to quit with a normal shutdown.

Not only will you lose data but the odds are very good that you'll eventually disable the PC doing this as there is a certain process that Windows follows to safely shut down and if you force it long enough you may completely disable the OS.

Can anyone here actually give an explanation as to why forcing a shutdown every time is a bad idea?

Minus the whole "omg unsaved data", what are the documented negative effects of doing this?
