Stupid question, but have you tried pinning it by right clicking on the icon in your all programs list instead?

This process erases all the pinned items on all of your programs (you'll have to pin them again afterwards).
1. Delete all files at %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
2. Delete all files at %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations
3. Reboot
4. Re-pin the items you wish

If this doesnt work, i'm out of ideas except maybe fiddlin around with things like never combine, always combine etc.
did not work. did not remove all those shortcuts that was already pinned as well.

That sounds like you have either a registry corruption, or file system corruption. Click on your start button, then the "Run" command. Type in "sfc / scannow" without the quotes, and run it. If that doesn't fix it, let me know and we'll go from there.

By the way, if you have any recent registry backup saved, try restoring that first. Always reboot before you test pinning it again, after running system file checker, or restoring the registry settings.

If Bill2's advice did not work, then you have to login as Administrator to do that task.

Hello awayyy.

If you have a Windows 7 install disk have a look at the tutorial at the link below; if you don't have the Windows disk have a look at the second one.

Yep, I second that if it's not a system file, or registry corruption.
