USB in Command Promt

    USB in Command Promt


    How do I make my USB show up in command prompt? When I type diskpart then list disk the only thing that shows up is my hard drive, and my usb show up in my computer.

    Hello anpippin..

    Can you post your cmd prompt..

    type list disk..if your usb put there, i guest detect at there.

    it's same if you try rescan from diskpart and see in list disk..

    Yes I tried rescan and got the same thing, my usb still doesn't show up.

    can you tell me your reason for show it up to command prompt??

    when you put your usb, is it detect?? can check at device manager.

    It shows up in device manager as Kingston DataTraveler 2.0 USB Device . The reason I'm trying to bring it up in command prompt is so that I can make it a bootable USB with Windows 7 on it.

    Hello Anpippin.



    The snip you posted shows you're in XP in my Windows 7 my USB drive shows up as "disk #5" I'm not sure about XP; do you have the XP SP3 installed?
