Win 7 icons

1. Close open folder windows.
2. Launch Task Manager by right clicking on the taskbar, then select start task manager.
3. In the Process tab, right-click on Explorer.exe process and select End Process.

5. From the File menu of Task Manager, select New Task (Run…).
6. Type CMD.EXE, and click OK.
7. In the Command Prompt window, type the commands one by one and press ENTER after each command:

CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local

9. Type EXPLORER.EXE, and click OK.

I upgraded from Vista to W7 a couple of weeks ago and have had problems with program-specific icons changing into generic icons ever since. I restored the icon cache per Bill's instructions and all of the generic icons were restored. But todey, three other icons went generic on me, so I'm a bit annoyed.

Is there a permanent fix for this or does life with W7 include restoring the icon cache every day?
