Hi,
I am trying to access the microsoft management console using the only account set up on the PC, ie, an admin account. However, I am getting a message indicating it is either unavailable or I do not have access rights.
Are there any known issues with accessing this ?

Thx, that worked OK and I can access the MMC now. Actually, I should have remembered this as I had a similar issue with microsoft office 2003 where I had to do the "right click, run as admin" to stop the EULA constantly popping up. However, thx once again for the solution.
I think that there is a PC issue in that a lot of programs and locations do not recognise the only account I have set up on the PC as an admin account. If anyone knows a solution to this I would be most grateful.

There is really no quick, one step solution. An Admin account in Seven is not like the Admin account in XP which gave the administrator total control of the system. By design, Seven's admin account is limited - it is more like the old power or advanced user account. This is part of the tightened security in Seven. The designers of Seven knew that most users ran their systems with admin accounts; so they limited the admin account.
This frustrated me at first; but now I am used to it and I actually appreciate it. I know how to work around it using take ownership and and changing permissions when I need to.
