Help me! My laptop can not Hibernate.

    For those that don't know, a clean install can be done with an upgrade Windows 7, have a look at the tutorial at the link below.

    Silly question maybe.... but have you got Hybrid Sleep on? type Power options into the start menu, click change plan settings and then change advanced settings, go to sleep and check that "Allow Hybrid Sleep" is off :)

    you will need to do this for all your power plans if it switches between them on batteries and mains power

    Windows 7 won't allow a hibernate if Hybrid Sleep is on, because it is basically a sleep AND a hibernate. to be honest the option to hibernate shouldn't even be available, but they seemed to forget to remove it from the "change what the buttons do" bit (which is what im guessing you changed the lid options in)

    done it, won't work again! i have installed dozen of software. is it a side effect of other software? for example : vmware , your freedom, these softwares install a new network adapter thanks, plz help!
