    Worked for me!

Just to let you know that the ALT-0-0-9 sequence also worked for me. I'm not running VMware or the other programs mentioned in this thread, but my Tab key was changing the focus of the window rather than of the item in each window. Now it's fixed.

    Thanks!

Xerox Driver may be My Problem

I have the same intermittent problem with the Xerox Global Print Driver installed.

Closing the Xerox Job Tracker process restores Tab key operation for me. I also noticed that if I ignored the problem for several minutes, it would sometimes go away.

    Hope this helps....

I actually just made an account to help out here. Heres what I tried.

One at a time i terminated running processes. In between terminating them i would try to use the tab key where it was acting up, when it started working again. I ran the last killed program, and sure thing that was it.

My problem was a program called "Pasphrase something"

In my case I tried the "Windows Key - TAB" combination several times and it fixed the problem.

It seems to be related to VMware player, the tab key brings the windows "out of focus".

I had the same problem. The fix in this article worked for me (second option - click ALT twice).

I have a brand new install of Windows 7 and it had it same problem. Press the tab key in the browser was causing the window to "defocus" instead of moving to new field in a web form.

I pressed Alt-Tab a few times to move through opened programs. When I came back to the web form, the Tab key started working correctly again. Not sure if press Alt-Tab had anything to do with it, but it started working after I did that . Microsoft .

    Thanks to "Dorf" (brilliant guy) for "alt + 0 + 0 + 9" fix.
