    Battery problem

Hey sinced I installed W7 32x on my Acer extensa 5630g my battery lasts like 10min...

    Worked perfectly fine on vista.

When i hoover over the "battery icon" it says

98% aviable (connected, battery do not charge)
    Change battery
(Crappy translated, hope you get what i mena anyway:])

So, is there any special driver or something to download?

    Thanks, Help is appreciated!

Sounds like you need to replace your battery. When batteries reach old age they no longer can hold a charge.

Are you absolutely sure you had 1 hour? The computer didn't tell you had 1 hour, you tested it correct? Windows only reports what the battery tells it. If the reported value it not what you expect then the battery is fault or dying.

Yeah, It worked perfectly fine with Vista. So... There's nothing you can do about it but change battery?

Would a year really be considered old? I'm not saying you're wrong, but that would seem a bit odd. But to be honest, I don't really know what the expected lifespan of laptop batteries is in the first place.

It varies depending on the battery type, the manufacture, the environment (heat == bad), how it is used. So many variables to choose from so many ways to kill a battery. However, the problems the OP is having does equate to an old battery.

a battery has to be treated with respect to get the longest and best life out of it , if you did'nt cycle the battery properly the cells deteriorate and lose their storage capacity , here is a good thread to read Stupid Stupid Laptop Battery :)
