    Taskbar gets stuck


    Hello. I am having a small problem with the taskbar, using 7 Home Premium Build 7600. Every once in a while it seems to get "stuck." For example, you know how when you mouse over a pinned icon, you can see the outline on either side and the little ball of light beneath it? When I mouse over an icon, and then I move my mouse somewhere else, that animation doesn't go away, but stays there indefinitely. Same goes for a running program. The little glowing animation under the icon will stay there even when I move the mouse away. Also the thumbnail previews for open windows only appear off and on, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. This seems to happen purely at random, and the only way I've been able to fix it is by restarting explorer. Not a huge problem, but annoying. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or if they know why this happens.

    Sounds like a driver or graphics card, may also be memory.

    Go to device manager, look for yellow warnings signs of problems. Also look for updated drivers, update the graphics card.

    Run memory diagnostics, see how memory is working.

    Type event viewer in search, look for any errors.

    Thanks. Looks like all my drivers are up to date. I'll try those things if it happens again.

Sometimes my taskbar gets "stuck", i.e. it doesn't automatilcally disappear (as it is supposed to do according to my settings). This might happen for instance when I remove a USB stick. On these occasions I have to restart the computer to fix it. Is there an easier way?

i use win 7 home premiun and everytime my computer wakes up from sleep my the taskbar stays stuck for 1-2 minutes . i have downloaded a a program called process explorer to see what is running in windows explorer . i used a option in process explorer called kill the process on the programs...

sometimes when i computer wakes up my task bar gets stuck after a bit my mouse gits stuck to i have to restart to git it going again any ideas what could be wrong i have win 7 fresh re- install it has been doing it since i got win 7
So I just installed Windows 7 last night, and as I logged on, my taskbar looked like Windows Classic Taskbar with windows 7 abilities. I can't change it for some reason, each theme I try is Windows Classic. Aero theme doesn't work, but aero peek does. Anyone have any idea how to fix it?
