zip files

    zip files


    i upgraded from vista home premium 32-bit to 7.i can no more open zipped files.the folder is missing.what can i do to restore it?

    The best explanation that I have seen is part of the OS. Go to Help and Support, by start button. and type in zip. After you read it, be sure to come back with questions or problems. It will be easier if you have a little understanding, first.

    There is also a short video, which will be a great help for you.

    It depends what kind of .zip it was. If it is a .rar, windows cannot unzip it anyhow. For that it is best to use 7zip. It will show up in your right click context menu and is good to unzip .zip files too.

    Hello Shriad, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    You can try the ZIP download in the tutorial below to restore all of the default ZIP associations in Windows 7 to see if ZIP works properly afterwards.

    i suggest you to reinstall the program to unzip.
    or you can try 7zip for free

    USe WinZip


    Download a copy of winzip and install it on your computer on the place where it asks you about file association select all. Problem solved.

    Why winzip?
    Cos this is the only zip application which can open .zipx files
