Impressive! As soon as that model or another Motorola being looked over now comes in I'll also need a new sig! Gee? What original "7" ideas are being pondered on? hhmmm...

The best part of all this is for those who sign up for high speed internet and get stuck with some XP/2000 modem as they will now have a "64bit supported" alternative to look at! (plus a far better made one to boot!)

If you thought the 64bit driver compatibility issue was something have a look now!

Sorry I couldn't help the temptation to grab that one!

You got that one right! You should have seen the old dsl setup! You would have been in histerics looking at the old 98 usb 1.1 adapter!

Once it comes in I won't have to worry about the latest update either since I already paid a visit to the support site in advance. Believe it or not they actually charge a monthly rental fee on the other one!

Think this will make a nice wallpaper on the 64bit 7?

I've had that model for almost a year now, was supplied Free by my ISP with my account.
Then again my ISP has always been cutting edge, the first full fiber optic network in N.A. (even tho an American company tries to lay claim to that), non profit community owned and all profits go back into the network so it's constantly upgraded with newest tech.

I think you missed the other sig for the last days being the compatibility error when trying to get the drivers to install on the 64bit 7 for the present modem. Once I found that the modem there is also one on the approved list I then had to look for a new sig!

That's not anything new like the SB6120 now seen. But I can get grab that one for about at about 40% of the other presently. The SB51501 is running $37.99 oem or $54.99 retail while the 6120 is seen only at a few places for $88-$100

FIOS was going to take forever around here! while the old dsl setup kept seeing constant dropoffs! That was one reason it took 3 full days originally to download both 7000s! The 3rd try at the 64bit 7000 finally finished without being interrrrrr rup tedddd... which is no longer a problem here. Now to lose the cheap modem!

You could make it something purely original, like a picture of a donkey in a well

................. The 32bit 7 however knocks XP out of the loop. ......................
Not quite true -- as I've posted in previous threads there's still a HUGE amount of high end very expensive legacy hardware out there for which either the manufacturer is no longer in business or won't make even VISTA to say nothing of W7 driver updates -- equipment is "Obsolete", no longer being produced (end of life), supplanted by a better more featured model etc etc.

This gear is expensive kit you won't see in home computers -- such as High end Recording studio equipment, Tascam Pro broadcasting Minidisc recorders, Professional quality negative film scanners, Videotape (yes it's still used) editing stuff. Oil rig and other "Metering and measuring devices"), Blue print plotters etc etc. The list is almost endless. Most of this gear is very very expensive to replace / upgrade and will still be serviceable for a LONG time yet.

Fortunately most of this gear can be run on XP in a Virtual machine but some won't.

XP IMO will STILL outlast VISTA by many many years (although with W7 now its demise in the HOME arena will be much quicker now than if Microsoft had not abandoned VISTA in favour of W7).

On these boards most people (but by no means all) are usually "Hobbyists" and home users.

There's a LOT of "Non office type" users out there who aren't normally considered as part of the "I.T" community who use the gear I've outlined above.

    Cheers
