This was an upgrade.

Im only starting up my touchpad driver, video card, and dock.
Wait. You don't start a video card. That's some crap desktop manager and that would certainly cause this. Use autoruns to find out what it is and temporarily disable it

Why are the dots there though? That seems strange. No matter if it's locked or unlocked, for me, they never show up. (messing with the properties doesn't make them appear either).

It's as baarod explained, if there is anything Video releated starting up then it no boubt is causing the graphical glitches we are seeing.

Those dots show up when you load a toolbar and unlock the taskbar don't they?

I'm gonna say it's a bug due to upgrading, as alot of people have been getting random unreproducable bugs on the forum after doing upgrades.

Yes, probably. I just had a strange glitch myself! My video mode switched to basic randomly, and my wireless connection just shut off! I opened the network troubleshooter, and it said my windows wireless network service was turned off. I clicked "service with administrator privileges" or something to that effect, and bam! It fixed both the wireless and video! ?!

Okay, you know what? I actually have an inkling something is up with Media Player, because most of my glitches happen when I'm listening to music or watching House.

Strange stuff, aero. I am not really sure what the problem is, but it seems like it is the build downloaded.

Windows 7 Ultimate RC (build 7100)
uhm, mine's doing it too

My taskbar does the same thing, allthough mine was fixed the same way as Quantum's, by simply pulling the taskbar to the right, and then back on the top. but every time i move it to the left side, it happens again.

i've got the 7100 (RC1) version, and an Ati X200M graphics card, so i don't think it's a Nvidia-driver-issue.

USB weirdness
Hi folks I have a Win7 Pro x64 system that I built myself probably 18 months ago. A while back the system starting behaving oddly with USB devices (was fine previously). So if someone brings me a thumb drive and I plug it in, Windows tries to load drivers for it and always fails, and then the...

General weirdness!
Sorry about the les-than-informative topic - but it is actually the best description I can think of. I have a Windows 7 64-bit setup installed clean on an ASUS Maximus IV Gene Z motherboard (with the latest BIOS), the hard drive is an OCZ RevoDrive Hybrid. Here are some of the strange behaviours I...

Taskbar weirdness.
What's with the Ghosts? See "behind" Fallout: New Vegas pinned icon (first one on the left) there's a ghost of Firefox's icon that is no longer pinned, or even installed to the computer for that matter. And this is just one example. Twice my system froze...

Build 7100 Vs 7077 x-64 anyone. 7077 better for me
Hi all Just a couple of points. Both x-64 bit versions. W7 build 7077 -- 100% OK W7 build 7100 -- few glitches 1) install had to uninstall some pre-existing drivers on "Upgrade" before it would install -- and you've guessed it -- couldn't re-install the drivers again. On "New...
