    Help with Repair Install

Hi all, ok I am about to do a repair install on Windows 7 to fix a problem, so read up "How To" on the forums tutorial. In step 2 it says to disable any firewall or anti virus program, then in steps 5 & 6 it says to go on line & install any available installation updates. My query is, is it ok to go on line without an anti virus prog. running, if not would it matter if I don't do the update. Thanks for any help.

    Hello Dooley,

It will only be connecting to a safe Microsoft server to check if there are any installation updates that may be needed. That's all. It's perfectly safe for this. :)

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
