    Hello together...

    Hi to all of you
I am new and to be frankly, new to this kind of comunication. So probably some of you will be patient and other will be enoyed.

Yesterday, I made a big mistake to my computer. I started compressing my HD and turned the computer off, without finishing the compression. It looks, that the computer didn't digested this very well and now I'm getting the answer, that the Bootmgr is compressed and does not start. Even more, the CD/DVD-Drive does not work properly. To be honest, I installed a copy of W7000, but I don't have a bootable disk. I have the file, but don't know, if it's bootable. How can I check this and even more, how can I make a bootable disk.
The file contains a file named .bin

Thanks for any patience and help

    Welcome

Can you get into safe mode? As the computer boots you hit F8 rapidly. If you can try to do a system restore.

    Hi Richard
Thanks for yr help. I'm writing from my Laptop, the desktop (damaged) does not even start the booting. It hangs there saying, Bootmgr is compressed, click ctrl, alt + del and then, it starts again the same story.
However, I'm not sure if the w7 cd does start. I have the files burned on a cd, they are from an imagefile, but I think, I did not burn the cd properly. So, I want to check if Ican make a bootable drive from those files. They contain registers:
    Microsoft Windows 7
Next I have all the files including one saying boot...
If I enter in this file, there is a vlc-file, with .bin extension.

Try that, or as my pc does... shows a black screen with (safe mode something else x2 and then start normally)
that only appears if you hold the power button down for 5secconds then start up again, should work in safe mode tho.

Edit: Hmm, so it doesnt boot at all?

    OK, something new came up!
Yesterday the light of the HD was allways on, then I opened and cleaned the pc. Now, by starting up the system, the green ligth of the cd-drive goes on, then the HD red light and then the hd red light turns off again and the regular light of the unit maintains on. I will check, if the CD drive takes the windows 7 cd
