the problem is, when i restart my computer normally, it goes to the startup screen saying "please wait".
after that, it brings me to the logon screen with my admin user account there. To access it, i have to click on it to load it, that account doesn't have a password so its just a simple click. but what i'm saying is that i hate to always click on my user account at the end of the startup. I just want it to be like this: "i turn on my computer, and it loads up to my desktop without the logon screen."

can anyone help?

BTW, I don't recommend automatically logging into an administrator account. However, if you do, you may want to enable UAC password protection for the admin account.

Forget Login altogether

A very simple procedure to avoid the login screen is to use Hibernate instead of Shutdown. I do this everytime. The computer still closes down but when you switch it back on it goes straight to main desktop.

One thing you must do is right click main screen and click Personalize. Click on screen saver then Change Power Settings. The top line is Require password on Wakeup. Click on this and choose Don't require a password. Save changes.

Each time you turn your computer on now you will go straight to your desktop.

Hope this helps

Windows 7 Ultimate

Try running "control userpasswords2" (Start, Accessories, Run) highlight your main admin/user account then uncheck the box for Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer. Also in screen saver settings uncheck On resume, display logon screen.

Windows 10 Pro X64

Click on Start the Run, type control userpasswords2 and press Enter
Select the account you want to be automatically logged on when you boot, then uncheck the box

Users must enter user name and password to use this computer

Click the Apply button.

You will see a Automatically Log on window with the name you selected as the User Name and the Password and Confirm Password fields blank. Leave them blank and click on OK. Click OK as needed to close all windows.

Reboot and the selected account should be automatically logged on.
