Windows 7: What to look for?!?

Well, $2,000 is probably way more than you will spend. If i was going to be in college, I would focus on a laptop with a relatively small sized display with light weight for hauling it around. Battery life would also be a key focal point as you may have 2 or 3 classes back to back and if you use the laptop for taking notes...you will need this extra battery life.

And if you find that a smaller screen (13") doesn't satisfy you when you are back at home, simply purchase an external LCD monitor and run with dual screens at home.

I've had many Dell laptops from work over the years and have been very pleased with them.

pparks has a good point. That reminds me, I saw this Toshiba 14" beauty at BestBuy. It has a backlit keyboard which may be handy in a dark classroom.

Some good points, so I personally would be looking at the P Series, or the TZ Series.

Thanks.. I am looking into all suggestions. But like I said, portability and battery length are nice, but not my priority.
