If that does not work. Control panel>display>adjust resoulution and then use the drop down menu.
That's what I tried at first but the for some reason it doesn't give me the option to adjust it so I can't use the drop down menu.

This is what it look's like when I go to that menu

Stop messing with DPI and all the other stuff...

If your desktop is locked at 640X480 which seems to be the case from the image you put up... this is most likely because your video drivers did not install correctly.

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Device manager ... what does it say for your Video Adaptor... If you right click then select properties I'm betting the driver comes from Microsoft...

Ok... now you need to find out what video you have. The Device Manager dialog should tell you that... Head off to the manufacturer's website (Google is your friend) and download then install the latest version of the drivers for your display.

As a second check look at your Monitor in Device Manager... Right now it probably says "Generic VGA" or somehting similar... Once you have the right drivers installed it should change to "Default Plug and Play monitor".... and, your display should automatically dictate the correct resolution when the driver install finishes.

That's your monitor and graphics adapter, but not a whole lot of info sadly.
What brand and model number is your computer?

Sounds like what CommonTater said, and it is just the standard VGA driver.

I suggest going up about 3-4 posts and read what CommonTater wrote.

Then research your PC, get the exact model numer, and go to the maunfacturer site, in this case Dell I guess.

Download the latest display driver for your specific PC and install.

Default Plug and Play Monitor is what mine says currently in device manager.

Hope this helps.
