Windows 7 build 7100 Still has intel graphics bug

Just done a clean install of windows 7 build 7100 RC.

    The good:

Newsleecher 3.95 beta 3 now runs fine again :)

Spotify now runs fine as well (never run properly when i tried build 7106)

    The bad:

Still has the "intel graphics adaptor has stopped responding but has recovered" issue when the power management turns off the display after a period of time and you wake it up some time after. ?

Never really could sort this one out on the previous builds really, i did try vista drivers for the intel 945 chipset, and manually installing them, but same issue. So i have been using build 7057 as this was perfect.

But i am still well pleased with this build apart from this bug, it installed fine and runs nice and fast, and all my programs run fine as well.

keep up the good work :)

Hey Colin, how much RAM do you have in there? One of my test systems had an intel 945G graphics card in it. 512m of ram. Every few seconds, where ever Aero was updating in the background (specifically the taskbar), it would go all brown (color of desktop). After upgrading the RAM to 1 gig, the problem disappeared. I didn't test power saving options with it, but considering the relation of this bug, it may be warranted to try it out.

Hi FreakyFerret, it's a laptop with an intel 945 chipset, and i have 3gb of ram, so i don't have a ram issue. As i said earlier build 7057 and in fact build 7000 were both fine, i could leave them as default after an install, ie 5 mins to dim the display and 10 mins to turn off the display, always woke up fine.

But after build 7057 it has never been right, you can see it struggle when you try and wake up the display after it's been off for a period of time, sometimes i never even get the screen to wake up at all, so i have to force my laptop to turn off. But mostly it just struggles to wake up then i get the error i mentioned in my first post.

Anyway for now i have just disabled that side of it and just have the screensaver give me a blank screen instead.

Thanks for the reply anyway, cheers :)

I get that on occasion with NVIDIA's beta driver for GeForce 8400 (128MB) on build 7000. Doesn't seem to happen with a particular action by the computer.

I have the Intel GM965 chipset in my laptop. With every one of the builds 7000->7100 i've had occasional flickering of the taskbar. I don't know what causes it to happen,, but every one in a while it just flickers randomly. It goes away if I move one of the programs in the taskbar around (ie. Shake it left and right a bit as if to clear away the flickering). Hope this issue gets fixed by the final relase and intel releases a stable drive for win 7.

Same, At least it doesn't crash like my Vista install did (also 965 here)
