Hello Chappy.

Thanks, that's very informative; I'm not sure I would enjoy that many installs, though it would be different as part of an avocation. I have done a whole lot of installs since this started in October but I'm having a good time. It may be a while before MS does anything like this again, I'm very glad I'm getting to be a part of it.

Thanks again!

Lol Ted,

You will be doing it all again in 2011/12 with Windows 8.

I reckon that will be the last full scale o/s release.

After that, it's unfortunately a tiny o/s to take you straight into a browser - then almost everything will be done online. Not looking forward to that.

Hello SIW2.

I've been hearing bits here and there about Windows 8, I'm looking foreword to it.

As to not needing an OS to get to the net, this ASUS board has ExpressGate that will go straight to the net from the BIOS though I'm sure you know more about it than I, as I haven't had the time or the inclination to experiment with it. Though it seems as a life without an OS will be very boring to say the least.

I love the functionality of the new taskbar, but I have too many applications to use on a regular basis that it gets a bit crowded (especially with unpinned objects like installers, updaters, control panel, etc all popping up randomly as I use them), to the point in which that it could even move to...

What Kind of PCs?
When Windows 7 is released, what kind of computers do you think will be available? I mean, touch is a huge part of it, so there would be little point in having 7 on a PC with no touch capabilities. I'm thinking that most PCs will be like the current HP touchsmart, everything built in, but do you...
