    agreed

Hi, i just upgraded my system to Window's 7 x32 from vista 32
and YES-I am finding my computer to actually LAG! it is the first time that this has happened, as it never happened with Vista.
I am quite surprised as I was expecting my system's performance to increase! (granted, it was working very smoothly before, I guess i did it because of the little options and abilities that 7 comes with)
oh, and in response to the defrag, i basically just bought my computer about 2 months ago, and it was working GREAT before upgrading. i feel like i'm typing on my blackberry by the way my computer is lagging.. disappointed-any recommendations on how to fix this or should i just go back to vista?
    weird.

You have to clean install W7(not upgrade) to enjoy the beauty of W7!

    Ditch Vista!

Windows 7 will speed up as you use it. It is still learning what to cache. Just stick with it.

I just upgraded from Vista 64-bit Home Premium to Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium, and it's intolerably slower. It's terrible, in fact. Part of the problem is that after the upgrade all the startup items were re-activated, but shutting them off only helped a little.

I'm running a brand new HP Pavilion, 12 GB of RAM, Intel Quad Core 2.67 GHz.

Manage your speed an performance by running performance information tools and making sure you aren't running excess programs: Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP.

I have used both VISTA and Win 7 in 2 Lappys and a Computer. Win 7 is 100 times faster than VISTA. You issue may be due to the incompatible graphics or chipset driver. Try updating the same.

You can use the guide in my sig - as for unknown devices, right click the hardware choose update and then online or search for 7 drivers manually. Use the unknown devices app from Halfdone Development if you don't know what the hardware is.

Yes, Windows 7 is lighter but slower and buggy lilbit. Am using it on few pc's and i am very, very disappointed. If you are using Windows 7 for real work (any hardware, any platform, intel or amd) you gonna feel that difference between 7 and Vista. Am gonna switch back all my pc's to Vista again. Maybe i will try again Windows 7 after SP2 or maybe Microsoft gonna abrogate Windows 7 till than. Microsoft just did "great" marketing brainwash thing with Windows 7, thats all.

7 does have some benefits over Vista - but it is a lot slower - just installed it on computer with i7 processor - ran like lightning with Vista - now it's not even a slow drizzle - no other mods to the computer - just took 30 sec's to open an email- other functions just as slow
