Not sure if he can even download Malwarebytes, although he should be able to from a secondary location and then xfer it.

Also, once you've run a malware/virus scan and explained what the page looks like when you can't download:

Go into IE8, Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security Tab > Custom Settings > Scroll Down the list until you find Downloads... Make sure they're enabled.

Michelle, you should check the Seven Forums rules. You started three threads almost simultaneously, asking the same question using exactly the same words. It's against the rules.

One issue, one thread.

If the malware/virus scan/changing internet options/activations don't work then I'd suggest doing a clean install of your operating system. Not only will it remove all of the bloatware (programs from whatever company you bought you computer from) but it will reset everything to default and you should be able to download. You probably have a virus or some kind of rootkit, but considering how the computer is brand new it could be anything.

Just wipe the entire hard drive and reinstall.

A lot of people have been doing this lately, apparently they think that they'll get results faster if they piss off moderators

Ok Kari...got it..know more rules now...for the rest of you who want to help...My computer came with Norton Antivrus trial installed. I tried to disable it, and the darn thing wont even open. Gahh!!
When I try to download something, it says something about my firewall settings, I have tried turning off firewall completely and even though firewall is shut off , it gives me this "yahoo messenger is unable to download files needed for installation. Please check firewall settings and retry installation"

I would also recommend a clean install. It sounds like you have some programs that are preventing you from downloading, and you need to get rid of them.

Do a clean install of the operating system, get the updates, put on a decent antivirus program, and go from there.

The add-ins you have currently appear to be the problem.

If I do a clean install, will i still have Windows 7? Since it was already installed, I do not have the key.
