running bat file spawns multiple command prompts

I am running a mvn batch file under windows 7 and within the batch file another batch file is being called. This causes a new command prompt to be spawned and to immediately disappear with execution finishes.

The problem is the 2nd window is displaying errors that I cannot read before the window closes - I cannot pause it, and I can't redirect output to a file.

My only option has been to run these files on an XP where everything runs in one command prompt window and I can read the output. But this is becoming a problem.

Does anybody know how to keep windows 7 from spawning new command prompt windows when a batch file is 'called' from another batch file?

    thanks

Hi mrdavidn3 and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

What is the batch file? It may need a bit of a rewrite. Can you attach it as a .zip attachment to your reply and we'll have a look at it.
