    Hiding Media card slots in Explorer


    Hiding Media card slots in Explorer, any body know how its done?,
    obviously I want them to come on when media is inserted but I want them hidden when their empty.

    Hello Joe,

    You could use the tutorial below to set empty drives to be hidden. When you insert a media card, the drive will then appear.

    It comes down to the media-card reader you have and its drivers. For example, the media-card reader built into my laptop does not display until I plug a card into it. However on my netbook it displays al the time regardless. This is not actually controllable via Windows.

    The "Hide empty drives in the Computer folder" setting actually only effects the navigation pane of "Computer" You can demonstrate this behavior with a CD.
