    Hiding Media card slots in Explorer


    Hiding Media card slots in Explorer, any body know how its done?,
    obviously I want them to come on when media is inserted but I want them hidden when their empty.

    Hello Joe,

    You could use the tutorial below to set empty drives to be hidden. When you insert a media card, the drive will then appear.

    It comes down to the media-card reader you have and its drivers. For example, the media-card reader built into my laptop does not display until I plug a card into it. However on my netbook it displays al the time regardless. This is not actually controllable via Windows.

    The "Hide empty drives in the Computer folder" setting actually only effects the navigation pane of "Computer" You can demonstrate this behavior with a CD.

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my desktop to be usb 3.0 capable. The only option I can see since my motherboard doesn't have any is PCI and PCI-e card adapters. Problem is, I have none available. I expected there to be a version where the usb 3.0 port would connect to a sata port. I don't see any....
I have USB 3.0 slots in my Dell Laptop. My desktop has a couple of these, too, but also a number that are USB 2.0. The Hauppauge HD-DVR and Media Center remote which work fine when used with USB 2.0 slots don't work in USB 3.0 slots. Is this a known problem? Are there any solutions?
Hiding HDD's in explorer?

Greetings, In Windows Explorer I have 2 HDD partitions (one for each HDD) that are listed in the file/folder tree. They are the "System Reserve" partitions that are 100mb each. I'm sure these partitions are required, and can't be deleted... I would like to just remove them from the tree.....
