Does windows 7 have "My Computer" ?

I get every thread with the word "computer" in it when I search for "my computer" in here so I am forced to ask the noob question, does windows 7 have "My Computer" , (not windows explorer) and if so, where the heck is it?

Click on the little globe where the start button used to be. Computer in the list that pops up is the new my computer, unless I have misunderstood your question.

The "My" is only retained for user files like My Documents, My Pictures, My Music and My Videos which are folders. This is in contrast to Documents, Pictures, etc. which are libraries.

Click Start (Windows circle icon) RIGHT click "Computer" choose "Show on Desktop"
On your desktop you will find ashort cut (like the picture below) to Computer which is your Windows Explorer. Just right click the shortcut on the Desktop for all the choices including Properties.

Right-click on the desktop and click Personalize. Click Change desktop icons and then check Computer as highlighted. Click OK and then close all open windows. The Computer icon will now be on the desktop.
