Major Problem with Windows 7 saying non genuine

    Hi

Our computer is basically locking down on us saying it is non genuine. The software is a Genuine Microsoft Windows 7 64bit version bought from Microsoft. But it is saying in the bottom left corner: Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of windows is not genuine. It has prevented any use of the characters on the keyboard, made the mouse curser flash and has stopped all antivirus and firewall software and prevented internet use.

We have been using this computer for 4 months with no issues and now suddenly it does this.
I have done a lot of searching and seems people have problems but they have been cured because the computer still runs, ours is almost non functional. Does anyone have any suggestions, it is impossible to get hold of microsoft to someone who understands.
    Thanks
    Will

Did you ever activate it? I have only had one occurrence of this happening at startup and a reboot fixed it.

while doing a repair install i was hit with a message like this, wasnt able to do much, but i was able to hit control alt delete and end the service that was stopping me from using my computer,
If thats not possible does it give you the option to call Microsoft product activation, to validate your product. if so, that should work, My copy for some reason decides to tell me its not valid until and only after i call their number and activate it using the phone service.

There are several things that will trip WGA One is if the system clock is significantly off. Another is a win 7 update that installed incorrectly. Were there any updates installed recently?

    Hi
Thanks for all the replies going to be trying a few suggestions. The Operating system was completely activated and had been working fine for months. However I have just been told that windows 7 build 7600 is the beta test version, is this true. As I was sold the software as Windows 7 Professional 64bit in December 2009

No, that is not true. 7600 is the RTM. Why don't you call the MS activation center and have them fix it.

There is an update on Windows Update that checks for pirated/non-genuine copies. I wonder if that is the source of the problem. Maybe it's buggy.

Description of the update for Windows Activation Technologies

I would first try running slmgr commands as Administrator to reset activation then reactivate: SLMgr Commands and Options with Windows Vista Product Key Activation My Digital Life

If this fails, I would run a Repair Install which resets activation. If activation then fails, use MS phone activation. They have to activate it if you bought it from them, although it may take Customer service to sort it out in a worst case situation.
