    Hi theog !
    An alternative may be tried . If the windows 7 partition is deleted using Partition Wizard Bootable CD , I hope there would not be any problem installing xp .

    Partition Wizard will not make sata drivers for Win XP.

    HP ProBook 4710s with SusE Linux Desktop 11 Novell.

    From what I find out you have Intel.

    As you have Linux installed,
    All Linux code must be deleted.
    Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command
    Try a full clean & full format.
    1) Boot DVD.
    2) Press Shift+F10 (for command prompt)

    Type in command line
    DISKPART
    LIST DISK
    SELECT DISK # (win HD)
    CLEAN ALL
    CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
    SELECT PARTITION 1
    ACTIVE
    FORMAT=NTFS
    ASSIGN
    EXIT
    EXIT
    Attached Thumbnails Attached Thumbnails help needed Want to remove Windows7-capture5.jpg

    SGT Oddball, Don't know what activate means for Windows7, I have 0 expirience with it.
