    Question about Middle Click taskbar

I'm dual booting with XP and 7RC1. With XP I use a program called TaskbarShuffle. It allows me to middle click on a program running in the taskbar to close the program.

In Win7, middle clicking opens a copy of the same program and TaskbarShuffle doesn't work with Win7 yet. Is there any way to change the middle mouse button's behavior through the registry or does anybody know of another program that will do it?

This is the only reason RC1 is not my only operating system. Please help.

    Thank you.

Welcome to SevenForums. Did you try installing your software in compatibility mode? Compatibility Mode

Yes, I tried Vista and all 3 XP modes. I also tried 32bit Win7 and 64bit Win7 with the corresponding versions of the software.

what type of mouse are you using.... depending on that.... using the mouse's software? I have an MS mouse that allows me to customize mouse button configuration. I can have the middle button (mouse wheel?) exit a program, start a program, close, etc. Is this what you are wanting? to do?

I'm using a cheap old A4 Tech 5 button/2 scroll $10 mouse. I'm wanting the middle mouse button to close whatever program i'm clicking on, on the taskbar.

EDIT: Besides that, I don't want the middle button to ONLY close programs. I want it to act normal, just effect the taskbar this way.

Didn't notice the thread was 3.5 years old:

    7+ Taskbar Tweaker - RaMMicHaeL's home page

This will do it, but it opens on the taskbar and then you have to close it's main window (at least I do).

Or you can wait for the preview thumbnail to come up and middle-click on that without installing anything.
