You need the right BIOS for your PC, f.52 is not for your PC.

Your laptop has a BIOS f.02, which is not a CQ50-139WM.

Which model do you have?

i would suggest you download the HP software system manager from here HP System Software Manager that will at least enable you to identify the correct bios you require :)

Usually you only need to do a BIOS update if you are running into problems, reviewing your posts, the only thing I found was this: monitor keeps switching to duel

Did someone suggest you do a BIOS update to fix the issue? or are you seeing a new issue that you are having trouble resolving?

what needs to be asked now is what is the cpu if its the amd then the bios version you are trying to load will not :)

yes it olny started when i put win7 on,hp said i needed to up date bios so i try to off there site but when click insydeflash it starts but then it disappears and computer freezes up.i have to take out battery and unplug power, and and start it back up without no up date to bios f.02 which the new update is f.52a
and when i try to flash it on usb it says,initializing file load 100 %, current bios model name 360B,new bios model name D5AS,current bios version :f.02,new bios version : f.52,protection:the new rom file is not match this platform,error: the new image file is not support flash utility

thanks theog but we really need to know the cpu ,the bios the OP is trying to dl is for the intel board but he may have the amd board
