    I'm lost searching

Maybe I'm dim or just past it!, but despite looking here and elsewhere, I am utterly confused how one searches for files modified between two dates. I have succeeded on a sole date but not for a range.

Will some soul give me it step by step please:)

Win7 is definitely a steep/precipitous leaning curve; at least until I can get a Dummies or similar.

    rundwald,
You can't be past it if you can come up with a Topic title like "I'm lost searching" The best I have seen for sometime. Or have I a strange sense of word use?

    datemodified:"01-01-2009" .. "31-12-2009"

This will give you all files which have been modified in 2009.

You're Welcome - It can take some time getting used to Windows 7 (like anything new), and I think the short How-to videos are really pretty helpful :)

Thanks to all for the advice. The nitty-gritty of my problem was in the formatting of a search involving a date range. I had been omitting the " marks around the dates, as per pezzovante's post.

You might also want to look at a tutorial I wrote way back when for Vista, Advanced Searches.
