Size of Desktop Toolbar on locked taskbar

    Hey all,

Need a little help here. I just bought a new laptop with Windows 7 [Asus K501N]. Old laptop was a MacBook Pro, and I have to say I'm loving W7 so far.

One little minor annoyance that I can't seem to fix. I like having the Desktop toolbar on my taskbar right next to the Start Menu, and then all my program taskbar buttons beside that. I have the same thing set up on my XP machine at work.

Problem is, when I lock the toolbar, the size of the dividers makes the Desktop taskbar stick out a bit, to show some of the child items. I've attached an image to hopefully illustrate what I mean.

So I need help finding out how I can get the Desktop toolbar to have the expanding arrow right flush with the end of the text. Any clues?!

    Thanks in advance

Hmm, this is probably not the right procedure but it works for me:

    1. I move a couple of icons from the notification area into the "box" behind the little arrow (just drag it over).
    2. then I unlock the taskbar and move the toolbar name with the double arrow on the dividers such that the bit of folder is no more visible
    3. I lock the taskbar - a bit of the folder is still visible
    4. I drag the notification icons from the "box" back onto the taskbar - now the folder bits have disappeared

Not a very geeky way of doing things, but it seems to work - at least for me. They apparently need a little "push" from the right side.
