Shorcut Icon Missing in Start Menu

One shortcut on my Start Menu is missing it's icon. I've opened up the All Programs folder to replace it, but as soon as it hits the folder, the icon disappears. Watch: http://screencast.com/t/Mzg4YmQz

Any ideas why this is happening?

Hi, when you click on the link does the program open or is the link dead?

Have you tried going into the properties of the link and changing the icon manually?

If you require any more help just shout.

    Post back with any results.

    Hello Xichael,

If the shortcut works, then see if you may be able to change the shortcut's icon to the proper one a few times completely through to see if it will change for you afterwards.

If not, then see if rebuilding the icon cache may help.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks, guys. I went in and switched the icon to something else, then switched it back, and it was a success. Just reapplying the same icon wasn't doing it.

The shortcut was launching the program just fine, Oli, just not the icon.

So odd that was happening just in the All Programs folder. Does it have a separate icon cache?

    Xichael,

I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted. :)

All icons use the same icon cache. Thumbnails have their own cache though.
