Well I did, and it said it would be fine, but I was wondering if it would run smoothly?

Is it THAT much better performance than vista?

Go for it ...you'll be fine ...
I even installed it on Very old laptop with Intel Celeron 1.4Ghz "Slow-bug" ...
with 1.25Gb ram -- 80GB HDD and an intergrated graphic card ..
I let wds 7 picks out all the drives ..."sound ..dvd ..wireless etc.."
I do not use any drive from Hp ...
Works great ....and very smooth ...
(BTW ..It can't run Wds aero glass ..due to my Poor GPU ..)
    You'll love it ..

I think you will be fine. Worst case you could turn off some Aero effects.

And yes, it looks very similar, but W7 manages them better.

However, if you have Vista now with no problems, there is no reason to switch.

If it is home premium 32 bit, there is no problem at all . It runs with the resources lower than this configuration .
