    Windows 7 HELP!!!


    I'm not for sure if I'm putting this in the right place, so I'm sorry if I don't... v.v;

    Okay, so, here's the deal:

    Bought a compy from Walmart -- an eMachines W3650 -- specs and such can be found on eMachines Support. It came with XP Professional on it and it worked like a dream until it got bogged down and a few things I had were incompatible with it. So, I upgraded to 7. And, now my computer crashes whenever I get to a certain level of interaction. At first, I thought it was a memory problem because it does a physical memory dump when it crashes. But, later, I got a Windows 7 error "alert" I guess you would call it, about my graphics card. So, I posted on that section of the forum about it and they had me do a bunch of stuff (including installing drivers for different versions of Windows). I followed what they had me do, all of which is listed on Intel 945GC Graphics Card Help. As you can see, nothing has worked so far. I don't know if it's the graphics card, the memory, or something else I'm just missing. If anything else is needed from me, I'll be more than happy to post. Please, help me in my conquest. I can't do anything on this computer!

    Firstly, never upgrade, always clean install. Try a clean install.

    Make sure you have all correct drivers for everything on your pc. If they won't install properly, try installing in [vista] compatibilty mode.

    Well, I did. I was using the word "upgrade" as in that I went from XP to 7. And, as far as I know, I do have all the correct drivers. o.o;

    Just a suggestion


    Might want to take advantage of the F8 key while booting Windows 7 and have your memory checked...

    If the memory isn't seated properly on the motherboard you may get intermittent crashes like you've described or if your memory is faulty and perhaps not timed correctly.

    Okay, I will try that.

    'Kay, tried. I ran Windows Memory Diagnostics and it came back that there were no problems with my memory. x.x;
