im sorry but
Quote:
For some unknown reason, my 64-bit 7 gives "Item Not Found" dialog whenever I try to move/delete a folder or an archive
or you can go to My Computer from the Start menu>right-click on the drive/folders (probably the C: drive), then click on Properties at the bottom. Click Tools>Check Now under Error-checking.tick automatically fix, and ok

Have you tried kucing's offered solution? What does your "Yes" mean exactly, what are you saying Yes to?

I may be coming in late but WinRAR.zip is another program to unzip files from.
I found mine in C> Program files where I have 7 zip and WinRAR and I can right click to delete it there.
If it is in the registry, which I don't mess with, might be in one of the keys and then look software.
Again, try and wait for an expert to come on.

I had to write 3 chars, this was just a selfquote. I did this as stated.
No errors found

Mister Moe
I've seen this same error once or twice. I tried all kinds of things then when I rebooted Win 7 magically fixed the problem. I've read some people moved the problem folder over to flash drive then deleted it. I don't have an answer for the problem. Maybe MS will fix it in SP1.

"Item Not Found" when Moving or Renaming
Every time I move or rename a folder, an "Item Not Found" dialog opens. It says "Could not find this item. This is no longer located in C:\...". When I click "Try Again", it moves/renames just fine. Does anyone know why it's happening and how I can make it stop? It's incredibly annoying.

Trying to delete "Windows.old", driving me nuts!
Not sure which sub-forum to start this thread in, but it looks like this one's the closest. Only problem is, it...
