Windows XP Professional compatible with Windows 7
Is Windows 7 compatible with Windows XP?
Is Windows 7 compatible with Windows XP?
Thats a very vague question. I believe you are asking if you can upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7, yes? Well, if so you wouldn't be able to do a direct upgrade. It would require a clean install.
Though is Windows 7 is compatible with your computer? I'd need your computer's model number or Dell Service Tag (should be somewhere on the back of the case) to tell you.
Hello Andrew, and welcome to Seven Forums.
It can see, read, and write to a XP installation if that is what you meant.
Do you have a more specific question about this? This question is just to general.
Hi Andrew,
If you share more information with us we can help answer your question more completely. Without more information I am guessing that you are talking about XP Mode. If you are, with Windows 7 Professional, you can run your computer in XP Mode. Learn more about it here - Windows 7 features - Windows XP Mode - Microsoft Windows and Windows XP Mode - Install and Setup.
Cheers,
Cassandra
