Try doing a system restore to a point before your problems start and see if that doesn't fix it...
thanks tews , that's generally a last resort for me (apart from re-install ) i like to find the cause to the problem or find a solution
maybe you can try using the registry
Navigate to any of the following path according to your requirement and then add a new “String key” and store path of the Program to be run in this key’s value.
For Local Machine-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunOnce
For Current User-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\RunOnce
or go here
thanks i tried the start up items list via control panel / administrative tools / system configuration/ start up tab.
but i couldn't see anything for desktop window the only thing related was microsoft operating system and i'm not sure i should disable that from startup
bill thanks system restore wont let me know why desktop page is opening, so i fix but remain clueless
