Well, I can't hardly believe it. I just got this all working. I had tried several different ways of pinning icons to the taskbar to get it so I could drop files on the icon and have the files open in that program. After this last post I right clicked on an icon on the quicklaunch bar and the pin to taskbar option was available, so clicked on it (MS Word) then tried the shift+drop file on icon dittie and it worked. Wohoooo.

I had tried pinning from the start menu, pinning from the actual .exe file and dragging and dropping onto the taskbar, and nothing worked. Apparently I needed to create shortcuts, in this case on the toolbar, and then pin those to the taskbar. I have had a similar quirk with the quicklaunch bar in Vista. Wow. Now I can get rid of the QL bar.

Spoke too soon. I can drag a single file onto the pinned icon and have that file open in that program, but I can't drag multiple files and have it work. Hope they get it fully functional as I would like to do away with the quicklaunch bar. At least it's getting smaller.

As you said not aiming at my comments however i am just one person and when i do use a program frequently, i will search every possible inch i can to understand whats been changed for better/worse or bugs. As for inexperience i only installed RC a week ago, so problems were inevitable, but after a good day today i have most things running properly...

At the moment most people are biased and for a good review you should have to sides to a story. I look for the good and the bad, i would actually like to see downsides to the product (besides people saying its slow when there running a single core).

Im asking for you to be reasonable and logical on this!

Im not speaking to any one person here this is in general to the public.
But come on now, honestly, you cant say that this RC is anykind of improvement over the 7000 Beta...

i'm the opposite, I thought and still DO think that the Beta was made more stable, MS took their time with the beta in releasing to the public to get it "somewhat right" for a public beta release. This public release of RC has so many bugs even an exterminator would run away screaming bloody murder. I know there is going to be issues with drivers, usually with newer hardware, or hardware not widely held, thats fine. But to have all the bugs with HG/Libraries, new ones not seen in Beta, not too mention the first Critical/important security fix not but 4 days i think after public release? That was almost like sending your kid out in the snow to play while wearing shorts and a sun visor. Rediculous mistake that was overlooked before the pub release. Connectivity issues are bountiful in this RC, which wasnt a problem until the imterim builds, around 48, which still to this day is the same problem with RC.

My grief is why release this and call it an RC when quite clearly it doesnt meet up to par standards of previously released RC's by MS or any company for that matter. Most of the MAJOR bugs are supposed to be squashed when RC is met, only a few little things that need to be tested and finalized is and should be the reason for an RC. Unless given an apocalypse or something so unforseen gets thru to RC, with a good explanation would be a reasonable excuse, therefore warranting a quickly made RC2... but it should be Beta 2, not RC or RC2. Its JUST NOT READY for this huge step, unless they plan on releasing a bug ridden OS. Very careless imo. Haste.
